Ankle Injuries
Severe injury, long period of treatment, long period in plaster and some permanent disability (limited walking ability etc) from £15,000 - £25,000.
For fractures and ligamentous tears resulting in moderate disability £6,500 to £13,500.
Arm Injuries
Serious fractures where there is significant or permanent disability from £19,500 to £29,000.
Serious fractures with good recovery or good expected recovery £9,000 to £19,500.
Simple fractures of the radius and/or ulna bones with fast and complete recovery, £3,000. Some remaining disability up to £9,000.
Back Injuries
Strains, sprains, disc prolapses, soft tissue injuries up to £6,500.
Severe injuries e.g permanent disability up to £14,000.
Elbow Injuries
Severely disabling injury from £18,350 to £25,000.
Injuries leading to impaired function but no major surgery or significant disability from £7,500 to £15,000.
Moderate or minor injury e.g. simple fractures, or tennis elbow, with no permanent damage or impairment of function up to £6,000.
Hand Injuries
Severe fracture to fingers with partial amputations resulting in deformity, impairment of grip, reduced function up to £18,500.
Loss of index finger £9,000.
Fractures with impairment of grip from £4,250 to £5,850.
Loss of middle finger £7,500.
Serious injury to ring or middle fingers £7,000 to £7,750.
Loss of terminal phalanx of ring or middle fingers from £2,000 to £3,500. Amputation of little finger from £4,000 to £5,850. Loss of part of little finger where tip is sensitive from £2,000 to £2,750.
Fracture of one finger with complete recovery within a few weeks from £1,000 to £1,750. Loss of thumb from £18,000 to £27,500.
Severe dislocation of thumb, £2,000 to £3,000.
Head Injuries
Minor injuries involving no brain damage up to £6,000. Injuries involving minor brain damage where a good recovery has been made but symptoms such as poor concentration and memory problems continue, up to £21,000.
Knee Injury
Torn cartilage or meniscus, dislocation, ligamentous damage; injuries resulting in minor instability or weakness from £7,000 to £13,000.
Lacerations, twisting or bruising injury with complete recovery, up to £3,250. Ongoing symptoms e.g aching/discomfort/occasional pain, up to £6,500.
Neck Injuries
Recovery within 2 years from £1,000 to £3,500. Severe neck injuries, with continuing symptoms, up to £13,000.
Pelvis or Hip Injuries
Minor injuries up to £6,750. Severe injuries needing/had hip replacements up to £13,000.
Shoulder Injuries
Dislocated shoulder causing pain in shoulder and neck, aching in elbow, weakness of arm and hand from £6,000 to £9,000.
Moderate injuries e.g frozen shoulder causing limitation of movement and discomfort for up to two years £3,750 to £6,000.
Minor injury, e.g. soft tissue damage causing considerable pain but recovery almost complete within one year from £2,000 to £3,750.
Wrist Injuries
Significant or permanent disability £12,000 to £19,500, less severe disability or pain and stiffness from £6,000 to £12,500. Where recovery is complete up to £5,000. For simple Colles fracture up to £3,500.
Whiplash Injuries
Good Recovery from up to £3,500
Severe Injuries. Permanent symptoms up to £13,000
